Dr. Kassoff is a graduate of Pace University, The Catholic University of America and Hofstra University. He holds a dual doctorate in clinical psychology and school-community psychology, as well as Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology and Educational Psychology and Evaluation and certificates in Rational Emotive Therapy from The Albert Ellis Institute and Advanced Clinical Biofeedback from the Institute for Psychosomatic Research. He is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Certified School Psychologist.
About
Dr. Kassoff commenced clinical practice in 1980 delivering therapeutic services and conducting psycho-educational evaluations. Additional activities followed that included assisting other professionals in bringing computerization to their practices, consulting on child behavioral and educational problems, stress management, research design and statistical analysis of scientific data. Dr. Kassoff has also chaired subcommittees and Committees on Special Education (CSE) as well as supervised school psychologist interns, having become expert in understanding and implementing the laws relating to educationally handicapping conditions and the various services available to school age and pre-school age children from their local school district.
Dr. Kassoff has lectured to various Bar Associations, New York State Supreme Court Justices, Major Corporations, Public Utilities, School District Clinical Personnel, The New York State Court of Appeals, Parents Groups and Students.
Activities
Activities also involve scientific and scholarly endeavors including published works for the Annual of the International Council of Psychologists, the Journal of Protozology and a contributing author in textbooks. Dr. Kassoff has given seminars and lectures in the areas of Human Sexuality, Stress Management, Family Issues, Adolescent Development, Couples Issues, Clinical Treatment of Adults, Families, Adolescents and Children, Article 81 Incapacitation, Judicial Programs and the design and implementation of psychological research.
Professional Practice
Offices for private practice are located in Little Neck, Queens, and in Bellmore, Long Island. Dr. Kassoff practices in various settings and has been on the faculty of a number of universities. He has been a consulting psychologist for The Holliswood Hospital in Queens and holds a certificate in RationalEmotive Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute and an Advanced Clinical Certificate in Biofeedback from the Institute for Psychosomatic Research.
